IPL Winners List (2008–2026)
Nineteen seasons of the IPL, and the ending nobody saw coming twice: Royal Challengers Bengaluru — the punchline of franchise cricket for seventeen years — are now back-to-back champions. Their 2026 win over Gujarat Titans, sealed with an unbeaten 75 off 42 from Virat Kohli in the final, made them only the second team ever to defend an IPL title.

The Most Recent Champion: RCB, Again
The 2026 final against Gujarat Titans belonged to the man whose IPL story needed it most. Virat Kohli's unbeaten 75 off 42 carried the chase and won him Player of the Match, as RCB became just the second side to go back-to-back after CSK (2010–11). Add teenage sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's Orange Cap season (776 runs) elsewhere in the league, and 2026 felt like a torch being passed and gripped at the same time.
Worth noting for the trivia-minded: RCB lost three finals (2009, 2011, 2016) before winning two in a row. Only Punjab, Delhi and Lucknow's franchises have now never lifted the trophy.
